The engine can on ly be started with the
selector lever in position P or N. If N is
en ga ge d, de press th e f oo t b r ake or e ngage
the hand brake before starting.
Do not a ccelerate during the selection
procedure.

vehicles with petrol engine

conditions in first to fourth gear.
3 Drive position for driving conditions in
first, se cond and third gear.
2 Drive position for first and second gear,
e.g. on winding mountain roads; the
transmission does not shift into third or
fourth gear.
1 Position for ma ximum braking effect,
e.g. when driving down severe gradients;
the transmission does not shift beyond
first gear.
