Tyre inflation pressure
Check tyre pressures, in cluding the spare
wh eel, at least every 14 days and prior to an y
long journey; the tyres should be checked
wh en c old. Don't forget to check the spa re.
Use the valve cap key to make unscrewing
the valve caps easier. I t is located in the glove
compa rtment.
Tyre pressures, see pages 225, 226.
Do not reduce tyre pressure when the tyres
are w arm. Otherwise the pressu re may drop
below the permissible minimum when the
tyres cool down.
Af ter having check ed the tyre pre ssures,
tighten the va lve caps using the valve ca p
key.
Incorrect inflation pressures will impair safety,
vehicle handling, comf ort and f ue l economy
and will increase tyre wear.
If the pressure is too low, this can result in
considerable tyre warm-up and internal
da ma ge , lea ding to t read se para tio n and even
to tyre blo wou t at high speeds.
Hidden tyre damage is not eliminated by
subseque nt ly ad just ing t he in flat ion pressure.
Tyre c ondition, whee l c ondition
Drive ove r e dges slowly and at right an gles if
possible. Driving ove r sharp edges can cause
concealed dama ge to tyres and whee ls that
only becomes noticeable la te r.
Do not t r ap tyr es when parking.
Check tyres for damage at regular intervals
(penetrated foreign bodies, punctures, cuts,
tears, bulges in side walls) . Chec k wheels for
damage. Contac t a Vaux hall Dealership if
damage or abnorma l wear is discovered.
Incorrect tyre pressure may result in tyre
blowout.
Da ma ge may lea d to tyr e blo wou t.
