Battery
The battery is maintenance-free.
If the vehic le is not used f or more than 4
weeks, the battery could become discharged.
This could shorten the service life of the
battery. The ba ttery should theref ore be
disconnected from the ve hicle by
disconnecting the negative terminal (Vau xha ll
alarm system is disabled). The radio lock 3
must be deactivated; see radio ope rating
instructions. The stored values of the trip
computer will be lost. Reconnect the battery
only with the ignition switc hed off. Then, reset
the da te an d time in t he in formation displa y t o
activate the electric windows and sun roof.
In orde r to pre vent the ba ttery from
discharging, some consumers such as the
courtesy light automatica lly switch off a fter
approx. 30 minutes.
Electrical or electronic acc essories f itted at a
later sta ge can pla ce an additional load on t he
battery or discharge the bat tery. Consu lt a
Vauxh all Dealership as regards tech nical
possibilities, such as fitting a more powerful
battery.
Protection of e lectronic
components
In order to avoid the brea kdown of electronic
components within the electrical system,
never disconnect the battery with the engine
running. Never start the engine while the
battery is disconnected (e.g. when using jump
leads).
The battery must be disconnect ed from the
vehicle before being cha rged: first disc on nect
the negative cable and then the positive
ca ble . The polarity of the battery, i.e . the
connections for the positive and negative
ca bles, must not be int ercha ng ed. W hen
reco nnec ting , first c on nec t t he positive c ab le
and then the negative cable.
To avoid damaging the ve hicle, do not make
any modifications to the electrical system,
e. g. connecting additional consu mers or
tampering with electronic control units (c hip
tuning).

Electronic ignition systems use a very high
voltage . Do not touch; dange r to life.
