Automatic transmission 3:
P = Park
(w ith select or le ver lock )
R = Reverse
N = Neutral
Engine may be started only in P or N.
To move out of P switch on ignition, press
foot brake and pull relea se under selec tor
lever.
To engage P or R pull release on sele ctor
lever.
P: Only with vehicle stationary, first
apply hand brake
R: On ly with vehicle stationary

D = 1st to 4th gear
3 = 1st to 3rd gear
2 = 1st and 2nd gear
1 = 1st gear
Plus:
S = Sporty driving programme
Select 3, 2 or 1 if c ertain ge ars are not
desired, e.g. 4-3-4 . . . on winding roads, or in
order to utilize the engine braking effect when
driving downhill.
To en ga ge 3 or 1 pull the release on the
selector lever.

Lock to prevent unintentional
selection of position P, R, 3 or 1:
Pull rele ase under se le ctor lever:
1, P: up t o final st o p.
Do not pull relea se when selecting any
position in the direction from 1 to N or from R
to D.
