Weigh ts, payload an d roof load
Payload is the differen ce between the
permissible gross vehicle weight (see
identification pla te) and the EC kerb weight.
To calculate the kerb weight, enter the data
for your vehicle below:

Note the weights given in the vehicle
documents.
The combined total of front and re ar axle
loads must not exce ed the permissible gross
vehicle weight. For example, if the front axle
is be ar in g it s maxi m um p e rm i ssi bl e lo ad , t he
rear axle can only bear a load that is equal to
the gross veh icle weight minus th e f ront ax le
lo ad .
Whe n the caravan/trailer ha s been coupled
and the towing vehic le is fully la de n, the
permissible rear axle load (including
occ upan ts) may be ex ceeded:
z on the Saloon by 50 kg
z on t he Esta te with
4 cylinder engine by 45 kg
z on t he Esta te with
6 cylinder engine by 40 kg

If the permissible rea r axle load for
vehicles towin g a carava n/trailer is exceeded
by the amounts listed, a maximum spee d
of 60 mph (100 km/h) applies. If national
regulations specify a lower maximum speed
when towing, this must be observed.

The permissible roof load is 100 kg. The roof
load consists of the we ight of the roof rac k
plus the load carried.
