Fault
If the ce ntra l locking system c annot be
operated with the remote control, this may be
due to t he following reasons:
z The range of the remote control has be en
exce eded.
z The battery voltage of the remote control
unit is too low. Chan ge the battery in the
remo te co nt ro l un i t.
z The remote c on trol has be en operated fre-
quently in succession outside the vehicle's
reception range (e.g. at too great a distance
from the vehicle ). Resynchronize the
remo te co nt ro l.
z If the central locking system is overloaded
as a result of re peated operat ion at short
intervals, the power supply is cut off for
approx. 30 se conds.
z Interference f rom highe r-power radio
waves from other sources.
Operate the central locking system using the
key – see the following pages. Have the cause
of the fault eliminated by a Vauxhall
Dealership.
Replacing battery in remote control uni t
Replace the ba ttery as soon as the range of
the remote control starts to become re duced.
Insert a small screwdriver in the notch on the
cove r an d prise it open. Disengage the remote
control from the key part and ope n th e ba ttery
cove r. Replace the battery, ensuring that it is
inserted correctly (see page 227 regarding
ba tt ery t ype ). Clo se th e r emo te c on tr ol so th at
it audibly engages in the key part.
The ba ttery c hange must be perf ormed w ithin
3 minu te s, oth erwise th e remo te cont rol will
have to be resynchronized.
Make sure that you dispose of old batteries in
accordance with environmental protection
regulations.
Synchroniz ing r emote control
In the e vent of malf unctions, synchronize
remote control:
z Switch on ignition; system will then remain
in synchronizing mode for 30 seconds.
z Briefly press button p or q on t he r emo te
co nt ro l un it wh il e th e u ni t is in t he ig ni t io n.
z The central locking system locks and
unlocks to show that the remote control
has been synchronized.
