The seat occupancy recognition system
deac tivates the front a nd side airba gs f or the
front passenger if the front passenger's seat
is not occupied or a Vauxhall child restraint
system with transponders 3 is fi tt ed o n t he
front passen ger's seat.
The control indic ator for seat occu panc y
recognition is located in the courtesy lamp.
If this control indicator lights up after the
ignition is switched on for approx. 4 seconds,
the ve hicle is equippe d with seat occupancy
recogn ition – se e page 91, Fig. 1 138 3 T.
This control indicator lights up permanently
after the ignition is switc hed on when a
Vauxhall child restraint system with
transponders 3 is fitted as soon as the
system has detected the seat. Only then can
the child restraint system be transported on
the front passenger's seat.
In a ddition, vehicle s with seat occu pa nc y
recognition can be identified by the sticker on
the front passenger seat – see Fig. 12154 V.
Vauxhall child restraint systems with
transponders 3 are detected automatically
when fitted on the f ront passenger's seat
according to the in structions. W hen using
these child restraint systems on the front
passenger's seat, the f ront an d side airba g
systems for the front passenger's seat are
deactivate d. Be sure to pa y attention to
the seat occupancy recognition control
in dic ato r 3 – see page 91.
Vauxhall child restraint systems with
transponders 3 can be identified by a sticker,
see Fig. 11382 A.
Only Vauxhall child restraint systems with
transponders 3 can be fitted on the front
pa ssenger seat; the use of systems without
transponders poses a da nger to life.
