Use of child restraint systems 3 on the
front pa ss en ger se at in ve h icle s with ai r-
bag systems 3 and without seat occu-
pancy recognition 3
Vehicles with front passenger airba g can be
identif ie d by the wo rd AIRBAG above the
glove compartment and the w arn ing stic ker
on the side of the instrument panel, visible
when the pa ssenger door is open.
Vehicles with side airbag c an be identif ie d by
th e word AIRBAG on the outboard sides of
the front seat bac krests.

sy stem s 3 and with seat occupancy
recognition 3
The seat occupancy recognition system
detects Vauxhall child restraint systems with
transponders 3 and switches off the f ront and
side airbag systems for the front passenger's
seat. Seat occupancy recognition – see
page 90.
Vauxhall child restraint systems with trans-
ponders 3 can be ide ntified by the stick er on
the child restraint system.
Vehicles with front pa ssenger airbag 3 but
without side airbag 3: Re ar-facing ch ild
seats (saf ety cradle and child safety seats
for weight ranges 0 and I see following
pages) must not be fitted on the front
passenger seat, danger to life. Forward-
facing child seats (saf ety seats for weight
ranges I, II and III – see following pages)
can be fitted on the front passenger's seat
provided tha t the latter is move d as far
back as it will go.
Vehic les with side airbag 3: No child
restraint system 3 ma y be fitted on the
front passenge r's seat; danger to life.
Only Vauxhall child restraint systems with
transponders 3 can be fitted on the front
passenger's seats. Use of systems without
transponders poses a da nger to life.
