Fault
If the central locking system cannot be
opera ted with the remote control, it may b e
due to the following :
z The range of the rem ote control has
been exceeded,
z The battery voltage of the remote
control unit is too low. Change the
battery in the rem ote control unit,
z The remote control has been operated
frequently in succession outside the
vehicle's reception range (e.g. at too
great a distance from the vehicle).
Resynchronize the remote control,
z If the centra l loc king system is
ov erloaded as a result of repeated
op eration at short intervals, the power
supply is c ut off for approx. 30 second s,
z Inte rference from higher-powe r radio
waves from other sources.
For c entral locking system operation using
key, see following pages. Have cause of
fault remedied. We recommend that you
consult your Vauxhall Approved Repairer.
Changing the rem ote control ba ttery
Exchange the battery as soon as the range
of the remote control starts to become
reduced.
Insert a small screwdriver in the notch on
the cover and prise it open. Disengage the
remote control from the key part and open
the battery cover. Replace the battery,
ensuring that it is inserted correctly (see
page 278 regarding battery type). Close
the remote control so that it audibly
engages in the key part.
The battery change must be performed
within 3 minutes, otherw ise the remote
control will have to be resynchronized.
Make sure that you dispose of old batteries
in accordance with environmental
protection regulations.
Synchronizing remote control
In the event of malfunctions, synchronize
remote control:
z Switch on ignition; system will then
remain in synchroniz ing mode for
30 seconds.
z Briefly press button p or q on the
remote control unit while the unit is in the
ignition.
z The central lock ing system locks and
unlocks to show that the remote c ontrol
ha s b ee n sy nch ron ized.
