Belt tens io ner s
The front seat belt system incorporates belt
tensioners. In the event of a head-on or
rea r-end collision, depending on the
severity of the accident, the belt buckles
are pulled dow nwa rd s; the diagonal a nd
lap b elts are instantaneously tightened.
Actuati on of belt tensioners
is indicated by the control indicator v, see
next page. Actua tion ma y also be
indica ted by yellow tabs 3 on th e be lt
buckles.
The belt tensioners must be replaced after
activation. We recommend that you
consult your Vauxhall Approved Repairer.
Periodically inspect all pa rts of the belt
system for damage and to make sure they
are functioning properly . Dama ged parts,
such as overstretched belts, must be
replaced by new ones.
The seat belts remain fully opera tional
even when the belt tensioners have been
actuated.
