Electronic immobiliser
The system checks whether the vehicle may
be started using the key that has been
inserted. If the key is "authorised", the
vehicle can be started. This check is carried
out via a transponder housed in the key.
The electronic immobiliser activates
automatically when the key is removed
from the starter switch.

Control indicator for immobiliser A
Control indicator A illuminates briefly
after the ignition is switched on.
If the control indicator flashes when the
ignition is on, there is a fault in the system;
the engine cannot be started. Switch off
the ignition and repeat the start attempt.
If control indicator A continues to flash,
try to start the engine using the spare key
and consult a workshop. We recommend
your Vauxhall Authorised Repairer.
If control indicator A illuminates after the
engine has started, there is a fault in the
engine electronics or the Easytronic
transmission – see page 115.
Note
The immobiliser does not lock the doors.
Therefore, always lock vehicle before
leaving it unattended and enable Vauxhall
alarm system 3 – see page 58.
