Seat oc cupancy recognition 3
The seat occupancy recognition system
deactivates the front and side passenger
airbags if the front passenger seat is
unoc cup ied or a Vauxhall child restraint
system with transponders 3 has been fitted
to the front passenger seat. The curtain
airbag system remains activated to protect
th e p assenge rs.
The control indicator for seat occupancy
recognition is loca ted in the courtesy lig ht.
If this control indicator lights up after the
ignition is switched on for a pprox. 4
seconds, the vehicle is equipped with seat
occupancy recognition – see page 100, Fig.
11414 T.
This c ontrol indicator lights up
permanently after the ignition is switched
on when a Vauxhall child restraint system
with transponders 3 is fitted as soon as the
system has detected the seat. Only then
can the child restraint system be trans-
ported on the front passenger's seat.
In addition, vehicles with seat occupancy
recognition can be identified by the sticker
on the front p assenger seat – see Fig.
12193 T.
Vauxhall c hild restraint system s w ith
transponders 3 a re automatically

passenger seat. When these child restraint
sy ste ms are b eing u s ed on th e front
passenger seat, the front and side a irb ag

deactivated. The curtain airbag system
remains activated. Pay attention to the
seat occupancy recognition 3 control

Vauxhall child restrain systems with
transponders 3 can be identified by a
sticker – see Fig. 11382 A.
Only Vauxhall child restraint systems
with transpond ers 3 can be fitted on the
front passenger seat; the use of systems
without transponders poses a danger
to life.
