3 Using The Vave Probe
This chapter explains how to install and use your Vave Probe safely and eectively. Refer to to the safety section
of this manual before handling the Vave Probe.

Ensure your mobile device requires a passcode, PIN, pattern or biometric identification for access.
We recommend configuring the device to lock after a maximum of 15 minutes of inactivity.

Ensure your mobile device follows your institution’s security policy.
3.1 Downloading the Vave App
3.1.1 iOS
Compatible devices: iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X, iPad Pro (2nd and 3rd generation)
Before downloading the Vave App, you need to have an iTunes account. If you can’t find the App, your device might
not meet the minimum requirements or the App might not be available in your country.
• Go to the app store and search for the Vave App
• To download, tap the Install button and follow the on-screen instructions
• To launch, tap the Open button
3.1.2 Android
Compatible devices: Samsung Galaxy Tab S3, Google Pixel C
Before downloading the Vave App, you need to have an Google Play Store account. If you can’t find the App,
your device might not meet the minimum requirements or the App might not be available in your country.
• Go to the app store and search for the Vave App
• To download, tap the Install button and follow the on-screen instructions
• To launch, tap the Open button
3.2 Updating the Vave Probe
3.2.1 Software Updates
Update notifications will appear in the Vave App as well as in the iTunes app store or Google Play Store when they
become available. If the update is mandatory, you will not be able to use the Vave App until you have downloaded
the update.
3.2.2 Firmware Updates
After you connect to the probe’s Wi-Fi, a red “New Firmware Available” notification will appear on the bottom of the
screen if a firmware update is needed.
To install the update, tap on the “Update Probe” prompt. A loading page will indicate how many minutes the update
will take to load. When the update is complete, click OK to finish the installation.
