12 V permanent positive (red):
Connect red wire to a suitable connector with 12 V permanent positive.

This connection should be rated for a current of at least 2 amps.
12 V ignition/ACC/Accessory contact (purple):
Connect purple wire to a suitable 12 V circuit switched through the ignition (ACC).
Battery negative (brown)
Connect brown wire to a suitable earthing point on the vehicle body.
Mute
Connect white/brown wire to the mute input on the car radio.
Connecting components
Loudspeaker
Use the insulation displacement/clamping
connectors supplied to connect the green
wire and the green/black wire on the
power/audio wiring harness to the wires
on the loudspeaker.
Microphone
Plug the 2.5 mm microphone jack into the “Microphone” socket on the CIX 3000 Blue.
Infrared receiver
Plug the 3.5 mm receiver cable jack into the “Remote Control” socket on the CIX 3000 Blue.

In this case, the power supply for the CIX 3000 Blue is provided via the CI 3000 (see the
installation instructions for the CI 3000). This means that a special connection is not
necessary.
Place the CI 3000 and CIX 3000 Blue on an even surface.
Insert the CIX 3000 Blue into the system bus slot (“Expansion Module”) on the CI 3000.
Use the connecting plates supplied to connect the two modules by removing the
appropriate housing screws and then replacing them together with the connecting plates.

Use the optional CA 3020 accessory cable to connect the CIX 3000 Blue to the D1' socket
on the VDO Dayton car radio.
Turn the volume down on the CIX 3000 to prevent override on the audio system.
