8 Maintenance and fault rectication
8.1 Maintenance
When used as directed in normal operation, VEGAPULS 62 is
completely maintenance-free.
8.2 Fault rectication
VEGAPULS 62 oers maximum reliability. Nevertheless faults
can occur during operation. These may be caused by the
following, e.g.:
l Sensor
l Process
l Supply
l Signal processing
The rst measures to be taken are to check the output signals
as well as to evaluate the error messages via the indicating
and adjustment module PLICSCOM. The procedure is
described below. Further comprehensive diagnostics can be
carried out on a laptop with the software PACTware and the
suitable DTM. In many cases, the causes can be determined in
this way and faults can be rectied.

Connect a hand-held multimeter with a suitable measuring
range acc. to the wiring plan.
