Section 7: Troubleshooting
If no voltage is present:
Replace the Electronic Controller.
If NO:
Perform
each of the following proce-
dures as necessary until the problem
is
resolved.
1. Locate the Electronic Controller
and remove the Faceplate.
2. Locate the Electronic Controller's
JP-2
Plug. Use a jumper wire to
make a connection from the
Preheat (+) pin to the Preheat (-)
pin,
reference Figure 3. Does
Electronic
Controller's Engine
Preheat Pump light illuminate?
A: If the Engine Preheat Pump light
illuminates
:
Check for loose wire connections
at Engine
Preheat switch and at
the JP-2 Plug's Preheat (+) and
Preheat (-) pins, reference Figure
3. If
connections are in good
condition,
replace the Engine
Preheat switch.
If
the Engine Preheat Pump light did
not illuminate:
Locate the Electronic Controller's
JP-2
Plug and check for DC
vol
tage at the Preheat (+) and
Preheat
(-) pins, reference Figure
3.
If no voltage is present:
Replace the Electronic Controller.

voltage is present:
See
"NOTE" below.
NOTE: If the Engine Preheat Pump still does
not seem to operate after performing all of the
listed checks, contact our Technical Department
at 1-800-685-4298 for additional assistance.
