disposal of the device after its lifecycle could harm the
environment. Do not dispose of the unit (or batteries) as
unsorted municipal waste; it should be taken to a specialized
company for recycling. This device should be returned to your

1. Safety Instructions
General
x This face shield does not provide unlimited eye protection. Read the
instructions completely before use.
x This face shield has been designed for your personal safety. They
must be worn for the whole duration of exposure to hazards.
x The face shield is suited for protection against moderate impact
hazards but is NOT unbreakable.
x This face shield has no filte ring action and does not protect against
molten metal splashes, hot solids or electrical hazard.
x Keep the user instructions for future reference.
Health
x Always check with supervisory personnel to ensure you are being
given proper protection relative to working conditions. Consult the
applicable European standards.
x Leave the work area if dizziness or irritation occurs, or if the face
shield becomes damaged.
x The materials which may come into contact with the wearer’s skin
can cause allergic re actions to susceptible individuals.
Modifications
x Do not repair or modify any component of the face shield.
x A pitted or scratched lens reduces vision and seriously reduces
protection. Do not use the shield any longer.
Material Declaration
No parts of this face shield which is in contact with the we arer a re
made of materials which are known to cause any skin irritation.
2. Compliance
The face shield com plies with the requirem ents of the European
Directive 89/686/CEE annex II by means of the European Standards
EN166:2001 "Personal eye-protection - Specifications" or EN1731:2007
"Personal eye protection - Mesh eye and face protectors".
3. Field of use
The face shield is designed to protect the user against eye injuries
through mechanical impact. The face shield is marked on the brow
protection and vizor with a series of numbers and symbols to indicate
the manufacturer, the field of use, the protection capabilities and
performance characteristics of the shield. The marking on the vizor and
on the frame have the following meaning:

Note - If the symbols F, B and A are not common to both the vizor and
the frame, then it is the lower level which shall be assigned to the
complete face shield.
4. Cleaning and Maintenance
To maintain the face shield in good condition:
x Inspect regularly for dam age.
x Do not repair or modify any component of the face shield.
x Do not use abrasive mate rials. Clean and rinse in warm soapy water
and dry with a soft cloth.
x Any part of the face shield which is in contact with the wearer shall
be disinfected with alcohol.
x When not in use, it is recommended to store the face shield in a
clean and dry plastic bag.
Use this device with original accessories only. Velleman nv cannot be
held responsible in the event of damage or injury resulting f rom

Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als
het na zijn levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel
schade kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en
eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke
afval; het moet bij e en gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen
voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw ve rdeler of naar een lokaal

1. Veiligheidsinstructies
Algemeen
x Deze gezichtsbescherm ing biedt geen onbeperkte bescherming. Lees
de handleiding volledig vóór gebruik.
x Deze gezichtsbescherm ing is ontworpen voor uw eigen veiligheid.
Draag de bescherm ing zolang u aan het gevaar bent blootgesteld.
x De gezichtsbescherm ing beschermt tegen gematigde schokken maar
is NIET onbreekbaar.
x Deze gezichtsbescherm ing heeft geen filtrerende actie en biedt geen
bescherming tegen gesmolten pellets, hete vaste voorwerpen en
elektrisch gevaar.
x Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.
Gezondheid
x Overleg steeds met he t veiligheidspersoneel of uw
veiligheidsuitrusting geschikt is voor de we rkomstandigheden.
Raadpleeg de toepasselijke Europese norme n.
x Verlaat de werkplaats in het geval van duizeligheid of irritatie, of
indien de gezichtsbescherm ing beschadigd is.
x He t materiaal dat dire ct in contact kom t met de huid van de drager
kan allergische reacties veroorzaken bij gevoelige personen.
Wijzigingen
x He rstel of wijzig de gezichtsbescherming niet.
x Een lens met putten en krassen vermindert het gezicht en de
beschermingsgraad aanzienlijk. Gebruik de gezichtsbescherm ing niet
meer.
Verklaring van het materiaal
Geen enkel onderdeel van de gezichtsbescherming dat met de drager
in contact komt, is vervaardigd uit materialen vatbaar voor
huidirritatie.
2. Conformiteit
De gezichtsbescherm ing voldoet aan de vereisten van de Europese
richtlijn 89/686/CEE annex II door de Europese normen EN 166: 2001
"Persoonlijke oogbescherming - Specificaties" of EN1731:2007
"Persoonlijke oogbescherming - Oog- en
gezichtsbeschermingsmiddelen van geweven metaaldraad ".
3. Gebruik
De gezichtsbescherm ing biedt bescherming tegen oogletsels door
mechanische impact. Op het vizier en de montuur van de
gezichtsbescherming staan een aantal symbolen en nummers die de
fabrikant, het gebruiksveld, de beschermingsgraad en het
prestatievermogen aangeven. De symbolen op het vizier en de
montuur hebben de volgende betekenis:

4. Reiniging en onderhoud
Om de gezichtsbescherming in goede staat te behouden:
x Controleer regelmatig op beschadigingen.
x He rstel of wijzig de gezichtsbescherming niet.
x Gebruik geen schuurmiddelen. Reinig en spoel af in warm
zeepwate r. Droog af me t een zachte doek.
x Ontsmet elk onderdeel da t direct met de drager in conta ct is
gekom en met alcohol.
x He t is aangeraden om de gezichtsbescherm ing na elk gebruik te
bewaren in een propere en droge plastic zak.
Gebruik dit toestel enkel met originele accessoires. Velleman nv is niet
aansprakelijk voor schade of kwetsuren bij (ve rkeerd) gebruik van dit

x L'écran facial n’offre pas de protection illimitée aux yeux. Lire
entièrement les instructions avant utilisation de l'écran.
x Cet écran facial a été conçu pour votre sécurité personnelle. Il doit
être porté tout le long de l’exposition aux risques.
x Le produit représente une protection pour les yeux contre les
dangers d’impact modéré mais N’EST PAS incassable.
x Cet écran facial n’a pas d’action filtrante particulière et ne protège
pas contre les projections de métaux fondus, solides chauds ou
dangers électriques.
x Conserver ce mode d'emploi pour toute référence ultérieure.
Santé
x Toujours vérifier avec une personne compétente pour s'assurer
d’a voir obte nu la bonne protection relative aux conditions de travail.
Consulter les normes européennes en vigueur.
x Quitter le lieu de travail en cas de malaise ou d’irritation, ou si
l’écran facia l a été endommagé.
x Les matériaux qui entrent en contact avec la peau de l'utilisateur
peuvent engendrer des allergies chez les personnes sensibles.
Modifications
x Ne pas réparer ou modifier l'écran facial.
x Une visière rayée ou endommagée réduit la vue et réduit
sérieusement la protection. Ne plus utiliser l'écran facial.
Déclaration du matériel
Aucune partie de l’écran facial en contact avec l'utilisateur n’est faite de
matérie l pouvant causer quelque irritation de la peau.
2. Conformité
L'écran facial est conforme aux conditions de la directive européenne
89/686/CEE annexe II par les normes européennes EN166:2001
"Protection individuelle de l'œil - Spécifications" ou EN1731:2007
"Protection individuelle de l'œil - Protecteurs de l'œil et du visage de
type grillagé".
3. Emploi
L'écran facial est conçu pour protéger l’utilisateur contre les risques de
blessures aux yeux par des impa cts mécaniques. Il est ma rqué sur la
protection faciale et sur la visière une série de numéros et symboles
indiquant le fabricant, le champ d’utilisation, les capacités protectrices
et les performances de l’écran. Le marquage sur l’écran et sur la
monture a la signification suivante :

Si les symboles F, B et A ne sont pas communs à la visière et la
monture , c’est le niveau de protection le plus faible qui doit être
assigné au protecteur complet.
4. Nettoyage et entret ien
Pour maintenir l'écran facial dans de bonnes conditions :
x Inspecter régulièrement l’écran facial.
x Ne pas réparer ou modifier l'écran facial.
x Ne pas utiliser de matérie ls abrasifs. Nettoyer et rincer dans de l’eau
savonneuse tiède, et sécher avec un tissu doux.
x Toute partie de l’écran facial entrée en contact avec l'utilisateur doit
être bien désinfectée avec de l’alcool.
x Lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé, il est conseillé de stock e r l'écran facial
dans un sac en plastique propre et sec.
N’employer cet a ppareil qu’avec des accessoires d’origine. L a SA
