Introduction Thank you for choosing the Vello BG-C11 Battery Grip for the Canon EOS Rebel SL1 DSLR Camera. This camera accessory offers users the ability to extend camera shooting time by housing an additional battery for your device. The grip’s ergonomic design enhances the comfort of vertical (portrait) image capturing with the verticalshooting shutter release button. The BG-C11 also includes an IR remote, which can be used to trigger the grip and camera from up to 15' (4.6 m) away.
The BG-C11 should only be used with compatible batteries and devices specified in this manual. 2. Cover the power terminals with the contact cap when the BG-C11 is not in use. This prevents electrical shorts caused by metal objects touching the power terminals. 4. If you notice smoke, an unusual smell, or noise from the battery pack, discontinue use immediately. Attaching The Grip 1. With the camera turned off, op e n the ba t te r y compar tment door and remove the battery. 2. Gently pull the bat ter y chamber door at a 35° angle and remove the door from the camera. 8 3. Slide the battery compartment door into the battery compartment door slot on the grip so that the side showing is flat with no protrusions sticking out.

Connect the shutter release c a ble to the c a mer a’s shutter release port ( ), and plug the other end into the grip’s shutter release port. 7. Insert one or two batteries into the grip and turn on the camera. You will be able to see the battery power level on the LCD screen. 8. Turn the battery grip on using the On/Off switch to activate the IR receiver and shutter release button. Putting the switch in the off position will disable the IR receiver and shutter release button. 10 Note: The Vello BG-C11 can power the Canon SL1 with one or two batteries installed in the grip.

Point the remote’s IR emitter at the camera and grip. 4. Press the button on the remote to trigger your camera.
