1/4" Tripod Socket
Allows the camera to be mounted on
a tripod when the grip is mounted.

Two-Step Shutter Release Button
Serves as an alternate shutter release
button for shooting in vertical
(portrait) mode.

Integrated IR Receiver
Wirelessly triggers the camera using
the included IR remote and the
battery grip’s integrated IR sensor.

Camera Battery Door Slot
Stores the camera’s battery chamber
door when the grip is mounted.

Anti-Slip Rubber Grip
Provides secure and comfortable grip
when shooting vertically.

Power Contacts
Slides into the camera’s battery
chamber and transmits power.

Contact Cap
Protects metal power contacts.
Keep this cap on when the grip is not
connected to the camera.

Mounting Screw
Connects to the camera’s tripod
socket.

Attachment Wheel
Secures the grip to the camera’s
tripod socket.

Shutter Release Cable Port
Accepts 2.5 mm to 2.5 mm sub mini
connector of the shutter release
cable.

On/O Switch
Turns the grip’s IR receiver and
shutter release button on or off using
the integrated power switch.

Battery Chamber Door
Secures up to two Canon LP-E12
batteries in the compartment.

Door Latch
Releases battery chamber door.

Shutter Release Cable
Carries shutter release signal from
battery grip to the camera.
