THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING VELLO The Vello Bluetooth ShutterBoss Advanced Intervalometer represents the new generation of wireless triggering. Utilizing the power of Bluetooth technology, the Bluetooth ShutterBoss empowers the user to an Apple® iPhone®, iPad®, iPad mini™, or iPod touch® to wirelessly trigger their camera’s shutter.

GETTING STARTED Downloading the App The Bluetooth ShutterBoss uses a dedicated app, available for free on the App Store. To download the app, either: • Scan the QR code below or • Open iTunes® on your computer or the App Store on your iPhone, iPod Touch (4th generation or higher), iPad, or iPad mini. Search for “Vello Bluetooth ShutterBoss.” Tap the download button and follow the prompts to download and install the app to your device.
Connecting the Device With the camera and the Bluetooth ShutterBoss turned off, connect the devices using the appropriate shutter release cable. Connect the cable to your camera’s remote shutter port [ ]. Then secure the Bluetooth ShutterBoss as desired. Bluetooth Pairing The Bluetooth ShutterBoss uses a Bluetooth wireless signal to communicate with your Apple iOS device. To pair the devices, first turn on Bluetooth from your Apple iOS device’s settings menu. Next, turn on the Bluetooth ShutterBoss.
SHOOTING MODES Single Shot 1. Connect the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to your camera. 2. Pair your Apple iOS device with the Bluetooth ShutterBoss. 3. Turn on the camera. 4. Set your camera to single shot mode. 12 5. To auto-focus the camera, hold down the Single Shot button [ ] on the app. Ensure your camera’s autofocus is switched on. 6. To fire the shutter, swipe the single shooting button to the right.
Continuous Shooting 1. Connect the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to your camera. 2. Pair your Apple iOS device with the Bluetooth ShutterBoss. 3. Turn on the camera. 4. Set your camera to continuous shot mode. 5. To auto-focus the camera, hold down the Continuous Shooting button [ ] on the app. Ensure your camera’s autofocus is switched on. 6. To fire the shutter in continuous mode, swipe the continuous shooting button to the right and hold until the desired number of shots have been taken.
Bulb Mode 1. Connect the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to your camera. 2. Pair your Apple iOS device with the Bluetooth ShutterBoss. 3. Turn on the camera. 14 4. Set your camera to bulb mode. 5. To auto-focus the camera, hold down the Bulb Shooting button [ ] on the app. Ensure your camera’s auto-focus is switched on. 6. To fire the shutter in bulb mode, swipe the bulb shooting button to the right. To close the shutter, swipe the bulb shooting button to the left.
Self-Timer Mode 1. Connect the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to your camera. 2. Pair your Apple iOS device with the Bluetooth ShutterBoss. 3. Turn on the camera. 4. Set your camera to single shot mode. 5. To select the amount of delay before the camera shutter is activated, tap the seconds selector on the right of the Self-Timer Mode field. Select your desired amount of time. This mode allows for any time between 1 and 30 seconds. Tap Done when your required time increment is selected. 6.

To use the scheduled shooting feature, use the following steps: 1. Connect the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to your camera. 2. Set your camera to Bulb mode. 3. Power on the receiver and open the app to pair your devices. 4. On the home screen of the Vello Bluetooth ShutterBoss app, select the Set Intervalometer Button. 6. In the section “Schedule Trigger”: a. Tap on the Date to input the date you would like the Bluetooth ShutterBoss to activate your camera’s shutter, then tap Done. 5. Schedule 1 will open.
b. Next, tap on Time to select the exact time to activate your camera’s shutter, then tap Done. If you would like to start the sequence immediately upon activating, select Now. 7. The default time on this next setting will automatically select the earliest nonoverlapping time you can set your device to fire again. This ensures that the first schedule is not over-written. 11. To review your settings, swipe downward on the app to see the previous schedule.
WIRED TRIGGERING FCC COMPLIANCE When the Vello Bluetooth ShutterBoss is connected to your camera via cable, the remote’s trigger button can be used to fire the camera and will work without batteries. TROUBLESHOOTING • Ensure the Bluetooth ShutterBoss has the correct batteries installed and are properly oriented. • Ensure you are using the correct cable between your camera and the Bluetooth ShutterBoss. • Ensure the batteries have a full charge. Do not mix fresh and used batteries. • When attempting to transmit data from your Apple iOS device to the Bluetooth ShutterBoss, make sure they are within the maximum range of 33 feet (10 meters).
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY This VELLO product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later.
