MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Cleaning the NURIT 8000
32 NURIT 8000 INSTALLATION GUIDE
• To clean the PIN pad, use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with
water and a drop or two of mild soap. For stubborn stains, use alcohol or an
alcohol-based cleaner. For best results, use a VeriFone Cleaning Kit. See
Accessories and Documentation..
To clean the printer
1 Disconnect the terminal from the power supply.
2 Open the paper roll compartment cover. See Figure 11.
3 Carefully lift the paper roll (see Figure 14) and remove any excess pieces of
paper or dirt that might be lodged in the compartment. If available, use a low-
pressure compressed air gun.
4 Replace the paper roll. See Figure 12.
5 Close the paper roll compartment cover. See Figure 13.
CAUTION
Never use abrasive compounds or solvents, thinner, trichloroethylene, ketone-
based solvents, benzene, or synthetic cleansers– they can deteriorate plastic or
rubber parts.
Do not spray cleaners or other solutions directly onto the keypad or display.
Never clean the unit with liquids. Use only a lightly dampened cloth or soft brush.
Never rub or strongly press on the LCD display.
Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning and/or a soft
brush.
