Installation Instructions
INSTALLATION OF HORIZONTAL SHEET METAL ON FRONT OF BUILDING (3) 12' PANELS
Additional panels will be required for buildings over 9 1/2’ at the eave.
NOTE: The sheet metal on the back enclosure and front enclosure should be installed before the roof and side
panels if possible. If you installed height extensions the number of panels and measurements will be
different. If you will be installing the front or back panels on a windy day or not installing the side panels the
same day, you should brace the frame section with diagonal braces to prevent damage to the welds at the base
rail.
Step 1: cutting panels on both sides of door
The six panels on both sides of the garage door will be cut out of one 12' panel. Use the layout below to mark and cut out
panels 1 through 6.
Step 2: Installation of front enclosure panels Note: Panels 5 and 6 will have to be trimmed at the top to
match the roof contour.
when you get to the installation of panels 5 and 6, set the panels in place and mark the roof contour on the back of
the panels and cut the panels with an abrasive disk or metal cutting blade is a circular saw. Cut the corners with tin
snips. You can use just tin snips for the entire cut. You can also install the panels to the frame and using the frame for
a guide, trim the panels above the frame with a reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade.
Start the installation of panels with panel 1 on the front left side of the building and panel 2 on the front right side at
the bottom of the building. Make sure that the panels are square with the outside edge of the corner post and that
your building is square. Use a level to check building for square. Fasten the panels to the building frame with #12 x 1”
self-drilling screws (with rubber washers) above and below each major rib. Continue installation of panels 3, 4, 5, and
6. Overlap each successive panel as you work your way up the frame.
Fasten with white self-drilling screws (N) to frame uprights, rafters and peak above and below each major rib.
Install the panels flush with the ends of the building
