Installation Instructions

INSTALLATION OF SHEET METAL PANELS ON THE SIDE OF BUILDING
(8) 10’ panels on an18’ long x 7 1/2’ side wall frame. (use panels in the same order as you did on
the roof.) Longer buildings may have some 14’ panels also. Stor-Ports will have 9’ side panels on
the last two frame sections only.
These instructions assume that the roof panels are installed on the building and the screws above the
bottom rib have not yet been installed.
Sheet metal panels on the sides of your building should be installed just as you did the roof panels with one excep-
tion. The panels at the ends of the building should be positioned flush with the building frame (no overhang). This will
create a larger overlap of panels on the side of the building than you had on the roof. Butyl caulk tape can be used on
the side panels, but it is not required because of the larger overlap of the panels. There are no overlapping panels on
the sides of a Stor-Port.
The last course of panels at the bottom of the building will have to be cut to fit. The amount you have to trim away will
depend on the side height of your building. On a 7 1/2’ high building, you will trim the panels down to a width of about
13 1/8”. You should measure from the center of the bottom rib (overlap rib) on the last course of panels you installed
to the bottom of the base rail. Check that dimension on the panel you are cutting from the center of the under lap rib
to your cut line should be the same (about 12 1/8”).
Fasten panels to the frame as you did the roof panels. Repeat on the opposite side of the building.
