Description of Operating Functions
loW poWer
Press, (or press and hold), the assigned
PF
key to set
the radio’s transmitter to “Low Power” mode, thus
extending battery life. Press, (or press and hold), the
key again to return to “Normal” transmit power when
in difcult terrain.
In the
EVX-531
, the LED indicator will glow with a
pre-dened color when the radio’s transmitter is set to
“Low Power” mode.
In the
EVX-534/-539
, the “

” icon will be indicated
on the display when the radio’s transmitter is set to
“Low Power” mode.
prIVacy
Press, (or press and hold), the assigned
PF
key to
toggle the Privacy feature “On” and “Off”. The Pri-
vacy feature initiates an encryption algorithm that
will protect your communication from unauthorized
eavesdropping.
In the

, the “ ” icon will be indicated
on the display when the Privacy feature is activated.

Press, (or press and hold), the assigned

key to
cancel any signaling features; the LED indicator
will glow with a pre-dened color (Factory default:
green).
