FTM-10R Operating Manual
ARTS: Engages the ARTS™ operation.
TAG: Switches the display between indication of the frequency and the
channel’s Alpha/Numeric label while receiving on the memory channel.
MHz: Allows to 1-MHz tuning step while receiving on the VFO mode.
SCAN: Engages the Scan operation
CLUB: Recall the CLUB channel.
WX: Switches operation to the Weather channels bank.
5. Press the [SELECT] key momentarily to save the new setting and exit to normal
operation.
Intercom Mode
Connecting two optional headsets to the FTM-10R (one of the headset connect to the
front and other headset connect to the rear) allows intercom communications.
1. Press the top panel’s [TOPT]/[TOPS] key to select “INTERCOM” function.
2. Press the [F] key to activate the “INTERCOM” function.
3. Speak slowly and clearly into the microphone.
4. To exit the “INTERCOM” function, press the [F] key twice.
Note: You may adjust the intercom volume level (High or Low) via the Menu Item “F46
VOL.ITCOM.”
Automatic Audio Volume Controller
The FTM-10R includes an Automatic Audio Volume Controller to allow the most
comfortable and/or effective reception in noisy environments. To activates the
Automatic Audio Volume Controller:
1. Press and hold the [SELECT] key for one second to activate the Menu (SET) mode.
2. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Menu Item “F1 AF DIFF.”
3. Press the [X] key to enable selection of this Menu item.
4. Rotate the DIAL knob to select the desired effect level.
ON MIN: Activates the Automatic Audio Volume Controller with the low effect
level.
ON MID: Activates the Automatic Audio Volume Controller with the medium effect
level.
ON MAX: Activates the Automatic Audio Volume Controller with the high effect
level.
OFF: Disable the Automatic Audio Volume Controller.
5. Press the [SELECT] key momentarily to save the new setting and exit to normal
