What Is the VMDE-200
The Cimarron Technologies Model VMDE-200 is a plug-in ANI
encoder/decoder module capable of PTT ANI and Emergency ANI
in GE Star®, MDC-1200® or DTMF signaling format in Vertex
communications radios. The unit provides Automatic Numeric
Identification of a specific radio transmitter each time the
microphone press-to-talk (PTT) switch is activated. Emergency
messages are sent by depressing the designated emergency button
for greater than a programmed period. Automatic Man Down
reporting is supported with the use of an optional mercury tilt switch.
Manual DTMF generation is available as well as automatic ANI.
The VMDE-200 is also capable of generating and acting upon more
complex GE Star and MDC-1200 messages like selective calls,
radio disables, commanded open microphone monitoring and
privacy communications. The VMDE-200 displays received GE
Star and MDC-1200 ANI on the radio LCD. Decode functions are
not supported in DTMF signaling format.
