Chapter 6: Using the Wave Installation Wizard
Wave Server Installation Guide
Note the following:
Initially, all the items in the left pane are disabled except
Software Updates. As you
complete the steps in the Wizard, additional items will be enabled.
Once an item has been enabled, you can jump between that item and any other
enabled item by clicking it.
All the steps in the wizard are optional and you can skip an item and go to next step
by clicking
Next.

2. Select a task in the left pane, and then click
Start to begin. If your are prompted to do so,
re-enter your
User Name and Password to log on.
Software Updates—Apply software updates to your system in order bring it up to
the latest level of functionality and performance. These updates can consist of
Upgrades, Service Packs, and Hotfixes. Note that when you upgrade software, the
system may restart one or more times.
Global Settings:
Network—Change the default IP addresses for the Vertical Wave Application
Module (VAM), Integrated Services Card (ISC1 or ISC2, depending on the
Wave Server model), and any Media Resource Module (MRM) installed on
the Wave Server; verify that gateway and DNS servers have external access to
support one-click license activation; add or remove the Wave Server from your
Windows domain; and change the default host name of the Wave Server. Note
that changing the host name or joining/leaving the Windows domain will
cause the system to be restarted. See “Identifying the Wave Server on your
LAN” on page 7-4 for details on how to make these changes.
System Time—Verify or change the date, local time, time zone, and daylight
savings time on the system. See “Setting the system date and time” on
page 7-17 for details on how to make these changes.
General Settings—Enter your company name and phone number, customize
the system locale to enable appropriate locale-specific system settings, and
other basic system information. See “Entering basic system information” on
page 7-13. for details on how to make these changes.
