Wave Server Installation Guide
To change the host name of the Wave Server:
14. On any tab, type the new name in the Host Name text box. The new name can be a
maximum of 15 alphanumeric characters and can contain hyphens (-).
To save your changes:
15. Click Apply and then click Done to save all of your changes. Note the following:
If you changed IP network settings or configured the Wave Server for one-click
license activation, your changes take effect immediately. You do not need to restart
the Wave Server.
If you changed the Wave Server’s Host Name, your change will not take effect until
the next time that the Wave Server is restarted.
16. If you are prompted to restart the Wave Server, do so.
Power-cycling the Wave Server
This section describes various shutdown and restart procedures.
Important: Whenever you restart the Wave Server, be sure to close and restart browsers on
other PCs that had been running the Global Administrator to ensure that any upgrades or
changes that you applied are displayed correctly.
To restart the Wave Server (without powering off):
1. In the Global Administrator Management Console, choose Restart System in the General
Administration section.
2. In the Restart system dialog, specify how many seconds should elapse before the system
restarts.
3. Click
Restart.
4. Click
Yes at the confirmation screen, and then click OK to restart the Wave Server.
To shut down and power off the Wave Server:
1. Press and hold the red button on the ISC1 or ISC2 (depending on the Wave Server model)
for 2-3 seconds.
2. System shutdown begins, and when complete, the Wave Server powers itself off.
Note: For a detailed description of the system status LED sequence during system
shutdown, see page C-6.
