Chapter 9: Installing ViewPoint and Other Wave Workstation Applications
Wave Server Installation Guide
To update station IDs at a later time, do either of the following:
• In the ViewPoint Logon dialog, specify a default station ID or a specific station ID
according to the instructions in “Using ViewPoint with a different phone or server” in
Chapter 2 in the Wave ViewPoint User Guide.
• Re-run the TAPI Configuration Wizard, as described in “Configuring the TAPI Service
Provider” on page 9-9.
To install the Wave workstation applications
1. Log on to the PC on which the workstation applications will be installed as a user with
administrator privileges.
2. Close all open Windows applications.
3. Start the Wave Workstation Applications Setup by running setup.exe, located in the
Netsetup directory on the Wave Server. The default location (based on the IP address of
the Wave Server’s VAM) is:
\\192.168.205.1\Netsetup\setup.exe
Note: You may have changed the default IP address of the VAM as part of initial system
configuration (see “Identifying the Wave Server on your LAN” in Chapter 3 or Chapter 4
(depending on your Wave Server model).
4. Review the License Agreement. Click
I accept the terms in this license agreement, and
then click
Next to continue.
5. In the Wave Server Information dialog, enter the following information:
•
Wave Server Name: IP address of the Wave Server’s VAM.
•
Telephone Station ID: Station ID of the phone that will be used by the person at this
PC. The station ID is assigned to a phone automatically by Wave ISM. To hear the
station ID, pick up the phone and dial *00.
If there is no Wave phone near this PC, or you have not yet assigned a phone to the
user at this PC, enter a station ID of 0.

Install this application for: The default setting, Anyone who uses this computer (all
users)
, is adequate for most installations. If you want only this user to be able to run
the Wave workstation applications from this PC, select
Only for me.
Click
Next to continue.
