Chapter 10: Installing the Wave Recording Archive Service
Wave Server Installation Guide
To install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition:
3. Install SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2 on the archive server PC. To do so, go to
the following location:

Follow the instructions provided to download SQL Server 2005 Express Edition SP2.

no need to install the version that includes Advanced Services.)
4. Run SQLEXPR32.EXE from the location where you saved it. When the Microsoft SQL
Server 2005 Setup wizard starts, follow the on-screen instructions.
5. In the Installing Prerequisites screen, click
Install and then click Next.
6. In the Registration Information screen, enter a user
Name (for example, the name of the
user responsible for administering the archive server PC), and then clear the
Hide
advanced configuration options
checkbox. Click Next to continue.
7. In the Feature Selection screen, right-click the down arrow next to the Database Services
entry and select
Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive. Repeat for the Client
Components entry. Optionally, change the default installation path. Click
Next to
continue.
8. In the Instance Name screen, select
Default Instance, and then click Next to continue.
9. In the Service Account screen, select
Use the built-in System account, and then select
Local System in the drop-down list. Click Next to continue.
10. In the Authentication Mode screen, select
Mixed Mode (Windows Authentication and
SQL Server Authentication)
. Enter and confirm a “strong” sa logon password, and then
click
Next.
11. In the Collation Settings screen, select
SQL Collations and then click Next.
12. In the Configuration Options screen, select the
Enable User Instances checkbox, and
then click
Next.
13. In the Error and Usage Report Settings screen, leave both options unchecked, and then
click
Next.
