Upgrading the ISC1/ISC2 boot loader
APPENDIX CONTENTS
Overview
This appendix describes how to upgrade the ISC1/ISC2 boot loader for the Integrated Services
Card (ISC1 or ISC2, depending on the Wave Server model).
Important: You do not need to perform the steps in this chapter if you are installing Wave
ISM on a new Wave Server for the first time. The latest released version of the ISC1/ISC2
boot loader was pre-installed at the time your Wave Server was shipped.
Perform these steps if the following apply to you:
• You upgraded an existing Wave ISM, and the Wave Release Notes indicate that an
ISC1/ISC2 boot loader upgrade is available. The Release Notes indicate whether the
upgrade is required or optional—generally, you should upgrade whenever a new version
of the ISC1/ISC2 boot loader is available to take advantage of important bug fixes or new
functionality.
• At a later time, your Vertical representative notifies you that a new ISC1/ISC2 boot
loader upgrade is available via a HotFix.
Important: Before upgrading the ISC1/ISC2 boot loader according to the instructions in this
appendix, be sure that you have successfully installed the upgrade or HotFix that contains the
ISC1/ISC2 boot loader upgrade. See the upgrade or HotFix Release Notes for more information.
