6 Maintenance
Changing the gearbox oil (ZF-Hurth)
Every 500 operating hours.
32 Draining the oil
Drain the oil with the aid of a separate sump
pump.
• Remove the dipstick.
• Insert the suction hose of the sump pump
in the dipstick hole. Push down the pump
handle quickly and pull it up slowly.
• Remove the sump pump when all the old
oil has been pumped out.
Or, if sucient space below the gearbox is
available, oil can be drained by removing the
drain plug.
• Collect the oil in a dripping pan.
33 Filling with new oil
• Rell the gearbox to the correct level via the
dipstick opening.

In case your engine is equipped with another
brand of gearbox follow the instructions giv-
en in the supplied owners manual for chang-
ing oil and other care and maintenance.
