MX Cables
11-2 Vicon MX Hardware System Reference
The MX Control and MX Bridge use the same physical connector,
cables, and signals as an MX camera: Straight-Through 100Base-T
Ethernet Network Cable with Category 5e twisted pair wiring.
One MX Bridge—MX Net cable is required for each V-series camera to
be connected to the MX system.
MX Camera/MX Control/MX Bridge—MX Ultranet Cable
A distribution cable terminated with a 10-pin Lemo plug on one end
(for the MX camera, MX Control, or MX Bridge) and an 8-pin Lemo
plug on one end (for the MX Ultranet). This cable supplies power and
synchronization signals from the MX Ultranet to an MX camera (or
other connected device). The cable also passes video signals (in
Preview mode only) and data from the MX camera back to the host
PC via the MX Ultranet.
MX+ Camera—MX Ultranet Cable
A cable terminated on both ends with 8-pin Lemo plugs. This cable
is used to connect an MX+ camera to an MX Ultranet.
MX Net—MX Link Cable
A cable terminated on both ends with 12-pin Lemo plugs. This cable
is used to connect an MX Net to an MX Link.
Warning
Do not use this 12-pin Lemo cable to connect either an MX Net unit or an
MX Link unit to an MX Bridge unit. Plugging one end of this 12-pin Lemo plug
into either the Link Connect socket on the rear panel of an MX Link or the
Link socket on the rear panel of an MX Net and the other end of the plug into
an Analog Camera socket on the rear panel of an MX-Bridge will result in
damage to the units.
MX Net/MX Link/MX Ultranet—MX Host PC Cable
A 1000Base-T Ethernet Network cable terminated on both ends with
RJ-45 plugs. This cable is used to connect an MX Ultranet, MX Net, or
an MX Link to the Ethernet port on the host PC.
Important
Only a single primary MX Ultranet, or a single MX Net or MX Link, can be
connected to an individual Ethernet port on the host PC. Each additional
primary MX Ultranet or MX Link requires an additional Ethernet port in either
