7 Replaying Recorded Images
7.1 Enter PLAY mode
7.1.1 Replay from Hard Drive(s)
If there is no CD in the CD drive, playback will be from the hard drive(s). Before being able to replay, you
may need to locate valid images using the SEARCH, EVENT or INCIDENTS keys.
Press any of the PLAY keys to enter PLAY mode.
Once in PLAY mode, these play keys may be used to move forwards and backwards through the recorded
video images. Different full screen cameras and quad screens may be selected during replay by pressing
the cameras or QUAD key:
7.1.2 Replay from CD
The VDM Digital Recorder can play back images previously recorded onto a CDR or CD-RW either by the
same or another VDM unit.
Insert a CD containing incidents previously recorded on a VDM Digital Recorder in the CD drive.
INCIDENTS
Press the INCIDENTS key to view the incidents screen
Wait for the CD symbol to appear at the top of the screen. The displayed incidents are
now those previously recorded on the CD.

Scroll through the list using the up and down cursor keys to select the required incident.
Press one of the PLAY keys to play back the incident
Note that when playing from a CD, you may need to wait a few seconds for the CD to run up to full speed.
Press a PLAY key again if necessary to start playing. Within this incident, replay may be controlled as for
normal hard drive replay (section 7.1.1).
7.2 Normal, Single Frame and Fast Play
Once in PLAY mode, you can play forwards and backwards through the recording using the following keys:
Play forwards at normal speed
Play backwards at normal speed
Step forwards a single image
Step backwards a single image
