EN - English - Instructions manual 6 Preparing the product for use Any change that is not expressly approved by the manufacturer will invalidate the guarantee. 6.1 Safety precautions before use The electrical system to which the unit is connected must be equipped with a 20A max automatic bipolar circuit breaker. The minimum distance between the contacts must be 3mm (0.1in).
6.4 Preparatory work before installation 6.4.1.2 Attachment with a pole support (optional) Instructions manual - English - EN The column support allows the internal passage of the connection cables. 6.4.1 Attaching the support There are two kinds of support, choose the most suitable one for your installation and follow all the instructions given in this section. Take special care when attaching and fastening down the apparatus.
EN - English - Instructions manual 7 Assembling and installing 7.1.2 Fixing the base to the support Use the screws and the washers supplied with the base. The assembly and installation must be performed only by skilled personnel. This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment this product may cause radio interference. In this case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
Align the 3 notches on the base with those on the support as shown in the following figure. Earth cable should be about 10mm longer than the other two, so that it will not be disconnected accidentally if pulled. Instructions manual - English - EN Fig. 10 Apply a thread-locker on the holes of the screws (Loctite 243®). Pay attention to the fixing. Tightening torque: 4Nm max. Fig. 11 The power supply cable should also be covered by the silicone sheath (01) supplied for this purpose.
EN - English - Instructions manual The electrical system to which the unit is connected must be equipped with a 20A max automatic bipolar circuit breaker. The minimum distance between the contacts must be 3mm (0.1in). The circuit breaker must be provided with protection against the fault current towards the ground (differential) and the overcurrent (magnetothermal). Connect the power supply cables to the J2 terminal as described in the table.
7.1.4 Video cable connection 7.1.5 Telemetry line connections The installation is type TNV-1, do not connect it to SELV circuits. In order to reduce the risk of fire, only use cable sizes greater than or equal to 26AWG (0.13mm²). In order to reduce the risk of fire, only use cable sizes greater than or equal to 26AWG (0.13mm²). The content of this chapter does not apply to the versions with digital video encoder. The video signal is present on connectors J5 and J7 of the board. Only use one connector.
EN - English - Instructions manual 7.1.6 Connection of the Ethernet cable Telemetry transmission and video signal pass through the Ethernet cable. Do not connect cable RS-485 and the video cable. Connect the crimped net cable to connector RJ45 located on the base of the unit. Operating mode valid only on version with IP board. To connect the net cable a UTP: Category 5E or superior, 4 pair, maximum length 100m (328ft). ETHERNET CFG RESET Crimp the RJ45 connector on the Ethernet cable.
7.1.7 Alarm and relay connections The Alarm Board, if present, is located on the base of the unit, as shown in the figure here below. CONNECTION OF THE ALARM INPUTS, OF THE TWILIGHT SWITCH AND OF THE RELAYS Description W, G Voltage-controlled liquid level alarm, referred to G A1, A2, A3, Self-powered alarm inputs referred to G A4, A5* and G R1A-R1B and R2A-R2B Tab.
EN - English - Instructions manual 7.1.7.2 Relay connection Relays are located inside R1A and R1B (Relay 1) and inside R2A and R2B (Relay 2) connectors. Relays do not have polarity and therefore both terminals A or B of the same relay can be used, for alternating or continuous current voltages. 7.1.7.3 Connecting the dusk switch for the LED illuminator During installation do not look directly at the illuminator while it is on.
The dusk switch is especially useful in areas where brightness varies greatly. For further details on configuration and use refer to the relative chapter (9.1.9.11 Advanced Setting Menu (Infrared), page 36).
