1 Introduction

1.2 Viega PEX system concepts
Viega PEX is a high-quality, flexible PEX system for hot
and cold potable water distribution.
The Viega PEX plumbing system offers maximum
security thanks to press and full-circle crimp fitting
techniques. These fittings ensure the plumber
quick installation, suitability for use inall types
of applications at the construction site and vast
reductions in the required number of fittings and
necessary installation time.
The systems incorporate:
• ViegaPEX Ultra tubing: red, white, blue and black
cross-linked polyethylene tubing designed with
superior chlorine and UV resistance
• Black ViegaPEX Ultra tubing (¾" - 2"): UL 1821
listed for use in multipurpose one- and two-family
fire sprinkler systems per NFPA 13D
• Viega FostaPEX tubing: cross-linked polyethylene
with additional aluminum and polyethylene layers
to provide rigidity and form stability, available in
