Getting Started Congratulations on your purchase of a ViewSonic® LCDTV display. Important! Save the original box and all packing material for future shipping needs. NOTE: The word “Windows” refers to Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, XP, 2000 and Me (Millennium Edition).

Installation 1. Insert Remote Control Batteries 1 Remove the battery cover by pulling then lifting the knob on the cover. 2 Insert the batteries, corresponding to the (+) and (-) markings on the battery compartment. 3 Reattach the battery cover. CAUTION Only use the specified AAA batteries. Do not mix new and old batteries. This may result in cracking or leakage, which may pose a risk of fire or lead to personal injury. Insert batterise according to (+) and (-) markings.
OPTIONAL: To connect an external amplifier, connect the stereo mini cable from the monitor's AUDIO OUT port to the appropriate AUDIO IN port on a compatible amplifier as shown on the right. 3. Connect AV, S, YPbPr, Antenna to Video Devices Connect Video/Audio cables form compatible devices into the back panel of N1800TV.
4. Connect power cables Connect the power cord to the N1800TV then to a properly grounded AC outlet. 5. Turn Power ON Press the Power ON button on the front of the LCD display. Or press the Power On (red) button on the Remote Control. Turn computer power ON. 6. Select input source for your LCD TV display, via either OSD menu or Remote control 1) Insert the ViewSonic Wizard CD into the your computer CD drive, wait for the CD to auto-start and then follow the on-screen instruction.
OSD Functions All the function settings for your LCDTV display are controlled either via the remote control or using the proper buttons underneath the front panel. Press MENU key to display OSD Menu, and press MENU key again will change menu page. OSD menu may appear to be different, depend on the current source input. Source Input: TV Picture Menu Contrast: To adjust the contrast ratio of the image. (right: low contrast, left: high contrast) Brightness: To adjust the luminance of the image.
Option Menu C-Caption: To turn Closed Caption feature on/off, or select the type of closed caption desired. Source Select: To choose a desired input source between PC, YPbPr, S-Video, AV and TV/CATV. Memory Recall: Recall factory pre-sets. Setup Menu TV/CATV SELECT: To select TV signal input between off-air and cable service. AutoScan: To search for available TV /CATV channels. Channel (Add, Delete): Use to add or skip TV channel after Autoscan.
V-Chip setting: To enable V-Chip functions please enter 0000 if you have not assigned the special password. Use remote control arrow keys to select V-CHIP Blocking to set parental guidelines on or off. Select MPAA Rating Guide to set rating grade. Use remote control arrow keys to move cursor to desire rating grade. When the text turns red, press ENTER key to set block (B) or unblock (U) condition. Movie Ratings The MPAA movie ratings are defined as following.
Select TV Rating Guide to set rating grade. Use remote control arrow keys to move cursor to desire rating grade. When the text turns red, press ENTER key to set block (B) or unblock (U) condition. TV Ratings The TV ratings are divided into two grounds age-based and content-based.
Use remote control numbering keys to confirm the number again, then press ENTER.
Source Input: YPbPr, AV, S-Video Picture Menu Contrast: To adjust the contrast ratio of the image level. Brightness: To adjust the brightness ratio of the image level. Color: To adjust color saturation. (right: pale color, left: brilliant color) Tint: To adjust the video hue level. (right: more greenish tone, left: more reddish tone) Sharpness: To adjust the picture sharpness.
Option Menu Source Select: To choose a desired input source between PC, YPbPr, S-Video, AV and TV/CATV. Memory Recall: Recall factory pre-sets.
Source Input: PC Main Menu: Auto Adjust: Auto adjust picture’s horizontal position, vertical position, fine tune and H-Size. Contrast: To adjust the contrast ratio of the image. Brightness: To adjust the brightness level of the image.
Color Adjust: To choose the preset color temperature, or a user selected color setting. Information: Show current timing mode information. Image Adjust: Includes H. /V. Position, H. Size, Fine Tune and Sharpness.
H. Position: To adjust the horizontal position of the image. V. Position: To adjust the vertical position of the image. Fine Tune: To remove or reduce random horizontal noise in the image. H. Size: To adjust the delay time between horizontal synchronous signal and video. Sharpness: To adjust the picture sharpness.
Source Select: To select an input source between PC, YPbPr, S-Video, AV, and TV/CATV. Setup Menu: Includes OSD Position and OSD Timeout. OSD Position: To adjust horizontal and vertical positions of OSD. OSD Timeout: To set OSD display time.
PIP Menu: Includes PIP Source Select, PIP H. /V. Position and PIP On/Off the control turning. PIP Source Select: To select a PIP input source between PC, YPbPr, S-Video, AV, or TV/CATV. PIP Position: To change the horizontal and vertical position of PIP window. Memory Recall: Restore default settings of contrast (Max), brightness (Middle), color temperature (preset color), OSD Position (Center), Sharpness (Min) and Volume (Middle).

Troubleshooting No power Make sure power button (or switch) is ON. Make sure A/C power cord is securely connected to the LCD display. Plug another electrical device (like a radio) into the power outlet to verify that he outlet is supplying proper voltage. Power is ON but no screen image Make sure the video cable supplied with the LCD display is tightly secured to the video output port on the back of the computer.
