INSTALLATION OF THE SHOWER DOORS BY AN INEXPERIENCED PERSON MAY RESULT IN GLASS BREAKAGE AND, CONSEQUENTLY, CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH. - Handle fragile items with care to prevent personal injury or material damage. - The glass panels are tempered and cannot be cut. Never attempt to do so.
PREPARATION STEPS TO FOLLOW BEFORE INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Verify that the overall size of the shower door opening is appropriate for the shower enclosure. Due to individual site variations, exact guidelines for every situation cannot be supplied. The recommended framing and dimensional requirements are shown for a typical application and may vary depending on the site requirements.
INSTALLATION STEPS A. INSTALLING THE SIDE GLASS PANEL 1. Arrange the side glass panel (#10) to the preferred configuration to determine the orientation of glass supports (#3). Clean the side glass panel (#10) edge where the side seal strip (#4) is to be installed with rubbing alcohol. Install the side seal strip (#4) to the wall side of the side glass panel. A1 4 WALL SIDE 2. Screw in the glass supports (#3) with the hex key to the side glass panel (#10).
4. Remove the side glass panel and drill holes into the wall. Insert plastic anchors (# 2) into the holes. ! Not necessary if installing into studs. Studs are the preferred means of installation, anchors can pull out of the wall causing property damage and bodily harm. There is a 15mm adjustment built into the glass supports for minor modifications. A4 2 There is a 15mm adjustment built into the bracket. 15mm 5. Replace the side glass panel (#10). Screw into the wall with 1 5/8" hex screws (#1).
6. Position the left threshold clip (#19) at the bottom of the side panel (#10). Mark the location for the mounting hole. A6 19 10 7. Remove the left threshold clip (#19). Drill a hole into the respective mark and put a plastic anchor (#12) in it. ! Not necessary if installing into studs. Studs are the preferred means of installation, anchors can pull out of the wall causing property damage and bodily harm. A7 12 10 8. A8 Replace the left threshold (#19) to the proper position.
B. 1. INSTALLING THE HINGE Clean the glass surface on the side glass panel (#10) where the hinges (#7) are to be installed with rubbing alcohol. Place gaskets on each side of the side glass panel (#10). Position hinges on the side glass panel (#10) as shown. Place a shim(s) as needed between the glass and the hinge on the bottom. The metal should not rest on the glass. There is a 1 inch horizontal adjustment built into the hinges for minor modifications.
DOOR PANEL INSTALLATION REQUIRES TWO OR MORE PEOPLE TO ASSIST INSTALLING THE DOOR Clean the door panel (#14) edge where the seal strip is to be installed with rubbing alcohol. If your shower opening is 60" attach the door side seal strip (#5) to the door panel (#14). Verify that the soft flange of the seal strip (#5) faces toward the inside of the shower cabin before seal strip installation. If your shower opening is 61" attach the extended door side seal strip (#24) to the door panel (#14).
3. Lift door panel to be level with hinge panel. Use PVC shims provided to hold firmly in place. NOTE - PVC shims prevent the door from sagging due to gravity and the weight of the door. ! Never install without shims, this can cause the glass to break causing property damage and bodily harm. C3 HINGE (7) INSIDE VIEW CLEAR PVC SHIM DOOR PANEL (14) HINGE (7) INSIDE VIEW DOOR PANEL (14) CLEAR PVC SHIM 4. Make sure the door is level from the end.
5. Clean the door (#14) glass surfaces where the magnetic seal strip (#8) is to be installed with rubbing alcohol. Place the magnetic seal strip (#8) to the door panel. The magnetic side should be facing the inside and the clear side be facing the outside. ! Do not install the handle first, this is dangerous and may cause the glass to break. The door magnetic seal strip (#8) is reversible and will need to be cut at top for best aesthetic approach. C5 14 8 VIEW FROM INSIDE D. 1.
2. Connect the vertical rail (#20) to the door panel (#14) by the magnetic seal strips (#8). D2 8 14 20 3. One person must hold the connection at the magnetic seal strips (#8) together and place the door in the closed position. The other person will mark the location of the vertical rail (#20) along the wall by tracing the sides.
4. Open the door (#14) and remove the magnetic seal strip (#8) from the vertical rail (#20). Position the vertical rail (#20) along the wall where you marked, making sure the bottom rests on the floor. Mark holes on the wall for mounting screws. D4 20 5. Remove the vertical rail (#20). Drill holes into the respective marks and insert white plastic anchors (#2) inside them. ! Not necessary if installing into studs.
6. Replace the vertical rail (#20) and screw into the wall with 1 1/8" phillips screws (#23). D6 20 23 7. Replac e the magnetic seal strip (#8) back onto the vertical rail (#20). Note: The position of the magnetic seal strip (#8) may need to change once you install the threshold in Step G. The magnetic seal strip must rest on the right threshold clip (#18).
E. 1. INSTALLING THE STRUCTURAL ARM Install the support assembly (#17) onto the side glass panel (#10) approximately half way away from the wall. Do not tighten. E1 WALL 17 SIDE PANEL OUTSIDE OF THE CABIN WALL SIDE PANEL 2. Install the structural arm (#6) to the support assembly (#17). The wall connector (#9) should be attached to the other side of the structural arm (#6). Slide the support assembly towards the wall until the wall connector (#9) is flush with the wall. Make sure it is level.
3. Remove the support assembly. Position the wall connector (#9) back to where you marked the wall and mark a hole on the wall for the wall connector plate. E3 WALL 9 SIDE PANEL 4. Remove the wall connector (#9). Drill a hole into the respective mark and put a plastic anchor (#2) in it. ! Not necessary if installing into studs. Studs are the preferred means of installation, anchors can pull out of the wall causing property damage and bodily harm. E4 WALL 2 SIDE PANEL 5.
6. Place the wall connector (#9) onto the plate and slide the structural arm (#6) into the wall connector. Slide the other side of the structural arm (#6) into the support assembly (#17) on the side panel. Tighten all set screws. E6 WALL 9 6 17 SIDE PANEL F. 1. INSTALLING THE HANDLE Assemble the door handle (#15) to the door (#14). Place the outside handle on the outside of the door and the inside handle on the inside, making sure to have a clear gasket between each handle and the glass.
G. INSTALLING THE THRESHOLD 1. Position the right threshold clip (#18) at the bottom of the vertical rail (#20). Mark the location for the mounting hole. G1 8 20 18 2. Remove the right threshold clip (#18). Drill a hole into the respective mark and put a plastic anchor (#12) in it. ! Not necessary if installing into studs. Studs are the preferred means of installation, anchors can pull out of the wall causing property damage and bodily harm. G2 8 20 12 3.
H. 1. INSTALLING BOTTOM DOOR SEAL STRIP Clean the door glass panel (#14) edge where the door bottom side seal strip (#11) is to be installed with rubbing alcohol. Verify that the soft flange of the seal strip faces toward the inside of the shower cabin before seal strip installation. Install the seal strip according to the diagram. H1 14 5 NOTES: 1. If the seal strip is not flat, use a hair dryer to apply minimal heat and press the seal strip back into position. 2.
J. APPLYING THE SILICONE 1. Apply clear silicone caulking to the inside between the wall and side seal strip. Apply clear silicone caulking to the inside between the floor and the side glass panel. Continue applying the silicone caulking along the threshold to seal any place that may cause leaking. Apply clear silicone caulking to the inside along the vertical rail.
! IMPORTANT - WAIT 24 HOURS BEFORE USING SHOWER - DO NOT ALLOW WATER TO DIRECTLY HIT DOOR SEAL STRIPS. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SHOWER CABIN AND DOOR PANEL 1. Use a mild liquid household cleaner to keep metal surfaces bright and clean. Rinse well and dry with a soft, clean cloth. 2. Remove dust with a soft, damp cloth. 3. Use a standard household window cleaner to clean the glass panels. 4.
