4.1.3 Cartridge Disassembly
see Fig 17.
- Remove locknut (12) and tab washer (13).
- Remove timing gear (14) noting that the drive shaft gear (stamped D)
has a right hand helix and the driven shaft gear (stamped L) a left hand
helix.
- Remove gear key (57).
- Remove front oil seal (17).
- Remove shaft (9 or 10) from bearing sleeve (20).
- Remove bearing inner cones (24) from shafts (9 and 10).
- Remove bearing cups (24) from bearing sleeves (20).
