General maintenance instructions:
The maintenance schedule and
maintenance intervals must be strictly
observed.
In addition to the maintenance schedule
provided in this instruction manual, the
maintenance schedule and
maintenance operations contained in
the engine instruction manual must also
be observed.
The following maintenance and repair
work can be found in the engine
instruction manual:
Replacing the air filter.
Information on engine oil (type, oil
capacity, etc.).
Checking and replacing the spark plug.
Changing the fuel filter.
Cleaning the engine.
It is essential that the following points
are observed prior to all maintenance,
repair and cleaning work:
Park the machine on level and solid
ground.
Stop the engine. (Ö 11.3)
Remove the ignition key and keep it in a
safe place.
Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.11)
Allow the engine to cool down
completely.
Carefully read and observe the section
"For your safety".
13.1 Maintenance schedule
All the instructions in the maintenance
schedule must be strictly observed.
Non-observance of the maintenance plan
can lead to significant damage to the
machine.
Maintenance operations prior to initial
use:
In order to achieve more efficient and safer
operation and to prevent faults, it is
important to be familiar with the condition
of the machine.
For this purpose, the following checks are
required before each start (visual
inspection):
Tyre pressure. (Ö 13.23)
Wear and damage to tyres.
Leaks in fuel carrying lines.
Engine oil level (see engine instruction
manual).
Fuel-tank level.
General visual inspection of the
machine and mowing deck. Particularly
the protective covers must be inspected
for damage.
Tightness of bolted connections.
Maintenance operations after each use:
Cleaning the machine (mowing deck,
mowing deck discharge opening) and
any attachments.
Observe the instructions on cleaning
the engine (see engine instruction
manual).
Clean the gearbox by brushing off grass
residues and any other dirt.
Maintenance operations after the first
10 operating hours (initial operation):
An inspection by your specialist dealer
is recommended.

Maintenance operations after every
25 operating hours:
Check of blade fastening and blade
sharpness, observe blade wear limit.
Maintenance operations after every 50
operating hours:
General lubrication.
Checking the installation position of the
mowing deck. (Ö 13.7)
Maintenance operations after every 100
operating hours:
Replace the mowing blades.
Allow inspection to be carried out by a
specialist dealer.

VIKING specialist dealers.
Note
Due to heavy-duty use, especially
in professional operation, shorter
maintenance intervals than those
specified here may be required.
Moreover, extreme external
conditions such as sandy or stony
ground, dust etc. may lead to
shorter maintenance intervals than
those specified in the instruction
manual.
An inspection by a specialist dealer
must be performed after every 100
operating hours or once a year.
