13.10 Changing the engine oil
Oil change interval:
The recommended oil change intervals
can be found in the engine instruction
manual.
Draining the engine oil:
● Stop the engine. (Ö 11.3)
● Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.11)
● Remove the ignition key and keep it in a
safe place.
● Allow the engine to cool down (warm to
the touch).
● Open the engine hood. (Ö 13.2)
● Unscrew the oil cap (see engine
instruction manual).
The oil drain tube (1) is located on the
right-hand side of the engine, near the two
pedals.
● Place a suitable oil collecting container
underneath.
Using two spanners (A/F 19/A/F 15),
unscrew the oil drain plug (1) and remove.
Drain all the engine oil.
Fit the seal ring (2) onto the oil drain
plug (1).
Screw in the oil drain plug (1) and tighten
to 12 - 14 Nm.
13.11 Topping up engine oil
● Open the engine hood. (Ö 13.2)
Please consult the engine instruction
manual for instructions on topping up the
engine oil.
Use a suitable funnel to top up the engine
oil.
● Close the engine hood. (Ö 13.3)
13.12 Fuel cock
The flow of fuel in the fuel line is enabled
or interrupted by opening or closing the
fuel cock.
The fuel cock is located on the left under
the fuel tank.
● Stop the engine. (Ö 11.3)
● Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.11)
Danger of burns!
Allow the engine to fully cool down
before topping up the engine oil
and before changing the engine oil.
Spilled engine oil may be ignited!
Exercise particular caution when
draining the engine oil. The engine
oil may be hot.
Information regarding engine oil
and oil capacity can be found in the
engine instruction manual.
Perform an oil change when the
engine is warm to the touch. Place
a suitable oil collection container
(note engine oil capacity) under the
oil drain tube.
Dispose of used oil in conformance
with statutory requirements.
Avoid damage to the machine
Avoid exceeding and falling below
the correct engine oil level.
Note
Before topping up engine oil, check
the engine oil level. (Ö 13.9)
VIKING recommends using a
funnel when filling (not included in
standard equipment).
