Connecting to SMB Shares
Server message block (SMB) is a networking protocol for sharing
printers, files, and folders between devices on a local network. It
is a well-established system, and support for it is built-in on most
popular operating systems. Using SMB, OSMC can access
folders on your Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux PCs as if they were
local devices.
SMB shares must be added to OSMC as sources, and so it is
usually useful to have your movies, TV shows, music, and
pictures separated into different folders.
To create a new shared folder on Windows (8/7/Vista/XP):
1. In the OSMC skin, you can click My OSMC.
