NOTE: If the plug does not attach easily, make sure that you are plugging it in correctly. Do not force the plug
into either connection.
3. Your computer recognizes that a device has been plugged into the USB port and automatically loads the
appropriate software to run the scanner. A progress window opens on-screen. Do not close this window as it
displays the connection status as Windows loads the driver for your scanner.
A status bubble may appear in the Windows notification area.
4. When the driver finishes loading, the status window will automatically close. If it does not, click Close on this
window when the text indicates that the device is ready to use.

OTE: the scanner should have been calibrated at the factory. If the driver does not read that the scanner is
calibrated, a calibration utility will open. Follow the instructions on-screen to calibrate the scanner.
