Note: A matching identification card is one having the same accession ID and test
type (gram +/gram -) as the susceptibility card.
During the bar code read, the instrument checks for one of these two
conditions. If the instrument detects an inoculum error:
• The cassette is backed out to the Cassette Load Station.
• The error alarm is activated.
Resolving an Inoculum Error
1) Press the Error/Message key to display the message queue.
For an inoculum source error you see the following screen:
Figure 8-10: Inoculum Source Error Message
Note: Another inoculum error message is “Grouping Error at Slot: NN”.
2) Open the Cassette Load door and remove the cassette.
3) Place the inoculum source next to the appropriate slot.
4) Place the cassette back into the Cassette Load Station and close the
door.
This restarts the processing cycle for the cassette.
BIOHAZARD WARNING
The cassette should be considered as potentially contaminated
and should be handled appropriately. Qualified laboratory
personnel should take the usual precautions necessary for
infectious agents.
