1 Installing the TV Inspecting the Package Contents Installing the TV Before installing your new TV, take a moment to inspect the package contents. Use the images below to ensure nothing is missing or damaged. After removing the TV from the box and inspecting the package contents you can begin installing the TV. Your TV can be installed in two ways: When you have completed your inspection, install the TV.
1 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA 3. Slide the base plate into the slot on the stand until it snaps into place. Be sure the mount you choose is capable of supporting the weight of the TV. After you have determined that you have the correct mount for your TV, you can begin the installation. To install your TV on a wall: 1. Disconnect any cables connected to your TV. 4. Move the TV with attached stand into an upright position and place on a flat, level, and stable surface. 2.
2 Controls and Connections Front Panel Right Side Panel Ambient Light Sensor Power Menu Channel Up/Down Remote Control Sensor Volume Up/Down Front Panel Input Remote Control When using the remote, point it directly at this sensor. Sensor: (For E190VA, sensor is located on right side panel.) Right Side Panel Ambient Light Activate through the on-screen menu. When activated, Sensor: the sensor adjusts the brightness of the TV based on the light level in the room.

2 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Input: Change the input device. With each press of the button, the TV will display a different input. Input (Specific): Change the input device. Press the button that corresponds to the input device you wish to view. Power/Standby: Turn the TV on or off. Sleep: Activate the sleep timer. With each press of the button, the sleep timer’s duration will change. Replacing the Batteries 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert two AA batteries into the remote control.
3 Completing the First-Time Setup The first time you turn on the TV, the Setup App will guide you through each of the steps necessary to get your TV ready for use. Before you begin the first-time setup: • Your TV should be installed and the power cord should be connected to an electrical outlet. • Have your remote ready. Ensure the batteries are inserted. • Your devices should be connected. To complete the first-time setup: 1. Turn the TV on by pressing the Power/ Standby button on the remote.
4 Connecting Your Devices to the TV Connecting Your Devices Your HDTV can be easily connected to an external device: • DVD or Blu-Ray player • Video game console • Cable box • External antenna • Or other device Once you have determined the best available connection type on both your device and the TV, ensure you have the corresponding cable. To connect a device to the TV: 1. Ensure both the TV and your device are off. 2. Connect the device and the TV. Use the best available connection.

5 Adjusting the TV Settings From the TV Settings Menu, you can: Customizing and Removing Input Names • Change the input source • Set up channels • Change the on-screen menu language • Change the TV’s date and time When you have multiple devices connected to your TV, it can become difficult to remember the inputs to which they are connected. Your TV features the ability to customize the names of these inputs to make them easy to remember. (Custom names have a 10-character limit.
5 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Removing Unused Inputs from the Input List Setting Up Channels To remove unused inputs: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Input icon and press MENU/OK. 3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Input Naming and press MENU/OK. 4. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the input source you wish to remove, then press MENU/OK.
5 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Customizing the Master Channel List Scanning for New or Additional Channels By customizing the master channel list, you can choose which channels can be displayed. When a new channel becomes available in your area, you do not have to rescan all channels to add the new channel. Using the add channel feature, you can restrict the scan to new channels only. 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed.
5 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Scanning for Channels Customizing Channel Names Before the TV can detect and display channels and their associated information, you must scan for channels. A channel scan may also be necessary when the TV has been moved to an area where different free-to-air broadcast television channels are available. Your TV features the ability to customize channel names, making them easy to identify. (Custom names have a 10-character limit.
5 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Changing the On-Screen Menu Language Setting the TV’s Date and Time Your TV can display the on-screen menu in different languages. From the Date & Time menu, you can: To change the on-screen menu language: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the TV icon and press MENU/OK. The TV Settings menu is displayed. 3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Menu Language and press MENU/ OK. 4.
5 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Adjusting the Time for Daylight Savings Setting the Date and Time This setting will automatically adjust the time for zones which recognize daylight savings time. Using this menu option, you can manually set the TV’s date and time. To enable or disable the daylight savings adjustment: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the TV icon and press MENU/OK. The TV Settings menu is displayed. 3.
E190VA / E220VA / E260VA 5 Adjusting the TV Settings for Use with A PC Your TV can be used to display output from a home computer using the RGB port. These settings are only available when viewing content from the RGB port. To adjust the PC settings: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the TV icon and press MENU/OK. The TV Settings menu is displayed. 3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight PC Setting and press MENU/OK.
6 Using the Other Menu Settings Your TV features an easy-to-use on-screen menu. Using this menu, you can: Setting the Sleep Timer • Set the sleep timer • View a USB photo slideshow • Set the screen aspect ratio To use the sleep timer: • Adjust the audio settings • Adjust the picture settings 1. The images can also be sorted by date or by name. • The USB thumb drive must be formatted as FAT32 • Files on the USB thumb drive must be a supported file type • The USB thumb drive must have a minimum 1GB memory To customize the photo display screen: • The TV will not play media from external hard drives or mp3 players 1.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Setting the Screen Aspect Ratio The TV can display images in five different modes: Normal, Wide, Zoom, Panoramic, and Stretch. Each mode displays content according to the content’s original format. Original Content Format Normal Wide Zoom Panoramic Stretch 18 480p/480i (4:3) 720p (16:9) Use the table below to determine the best aspect ratio for your content type. Areas in red will not be visible on your TV screen.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA To adjust the screen aspect ratio: Adjusting the Audio Settings 1. Press the MENU/OK button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. Using the Audio Settings menu, you can adjust the following: • Enable or disable SRS TruSurroundHD™ 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Wide icon and press OK. The Wide menu is displayed. • Enable or disable SRS TruVolume™ • Adjust the equalizer settings 3.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Enabling or Disabling SRS TruVolume Adjusting the Equalizer Settings SRS TruVolume intelligently normalizes volume fluctuations due to television commercials or channel changes. Your TV features six preset equalizer settings. These settings allow you to customize your TV’s sound to match the type of programming you most often enjoy. To enable or disable SRS TruVolume: The Equalizer Settings menu is not available when SRS TruSurroundHD is enabled. 1.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Adjusting Bass and Treble Levels Adjusting the Speaker Balance The bass and treble levels for your TV’s built-in speakers can be adjusted to your liking. The built-in speakers can be adjusted to distribute the sound between the left and right speakers. To adjust the bass and treble levels, you must disable SRS TruSurroundHD and change the Equalizer Settings to Off. To adjust the bass and treble levels: 1. Press the MENU/OK button on the remote.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Enabling or Disabling the Built-In Speakers Selecting the Digital Output Mode Using this menu option, you can turn the built-in speakers on or off. This is often used when the TV is connected to a home audio system. Using this menu option, you can force the TV to downsample unsupported audio formats to PCM audio. You may want to use this option if you have an older audio receiver connected to the TV. To enable or disable the built-in speakers: 1.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Changing the Audio Language Resetting the Audio Settngs Some digital free-to-air and cable channels broadcast programs in more than one language. The TV’s MTS (Multichannel Television Sound) feature allows you to listen to audio in your preferred language. To reset the audio settings to the factory default settings: Not all programs are broadcast in multiple languages. The MTS feature only works when the program being viewed is being broadcast in the language you select.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Adjusting the Picture Settings Using the Picture menu, you can adjust the following settings: • Change the picture mode • Adjust noise reduction • Enable or disable Fast Response • Enable or disable the ambient light sensor • Reset the picture mode settings Changing the Picture Mode Your TV display can be adjusted to suit your preferences and viewing conditions. To change the picture mode: 1. Press the MENU/OK button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Adjusting the Noise Reduction Setting Enabling or Disabling the Ambient Light Sensor Noise reduction diminishes artifacts such as “blockiness” or “pixellation”. When activated, the resulting picture usually has softer edges. When enabled, the ambient light sensor detects the light levels in the room to optimize the brightness of the TV’s backlight. To adjust the noise reduction setting: 1. Press the MENU/OK button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2.
6 Resetting the Picture Settings E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Setting the Parental Controls To restore the TV’s picture settings to the factory defaults: 1. Press the MENU/OK button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Picture and press MENU/OK. 3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Reset Picture Mode, then press MENU/OK. 4. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight OK and press MENU/OK. 5. Press EXIT.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Blocking and Unblocking Content by Rating Changing the Parental Control Passcode A channel may sometimes broadcast programs that are meant for children, and at other times broadcast programs that are meant for mature audiences. You may not want to block the channel completely using a channel lock, but you may wish to block certain programs from being viewed.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Viewing System Info and Resetting to Factory Defaults You can use the TV’s Help menu to: • Display system information • Restore the TV to its factory default settings • Restart the Setup App Displaying System Information The TV displays, “Are you sure you would like to Restore Defaults? This will erase any custom settings.” 4. Highlight Yes and press MENU/OK. 5. Press EXIT. Restarting the Setup App The TV’s Setup App can be used to easily set up the TV tuner.
6 E190VA / E220VA / E260VA Setting Up Closed Captioning Changing the Appearance of Digital Closed Captions Digital closed captions can be displayed according to your preference. Your TV can display closed captions for programs that include them. Closed captions display a transcription of a program’s dialogue. If the program you are viewing is not being broadcast with closed captions, the TV will not display them. To activate or deactivate closed captions: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote.
