1 Installing the TV Inspecting the Package Contents Installing the TV Before installing your new TV, take a moment to inspect the package contents. Use the images below to ensure nothing is missing or damaged. After removing the TV from the box and inspecting the package contents you can begin installing the TV. Your TV can be installed in two ways: When you have completed your inspection, install the TV.
1 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Installing the TV on a Wall 3. Using a phillips-head screwdriver, attach the base to the TV by inserting and tightening the 4 included screws. To mount your TV on a wall, you will need a wall mount.
2 Controls and Connections Rear Panel Please note that your rear panel will vary depending on your TV model number. Match your model number to the illustration below for the correct port illustration. Volume Up Volume Down Input Right Side Panel Power: Turn the TV on or off. Menu: Display on-screen menu. Channel Up/Down: Change the channel. Volume Up/Down: Increase or decrease the loudness of the TVs audio. Input: Change the input device.

Menu: Display the on-screen menu. Exit: Close the on-screen menu. Arrow: Navigate the on-screen menu and episode guide.
2 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Replacing the Batteries 1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert two AAA batteries into the remote control. Make sure that the (+) and (-) symbols on the batteries match the (+) and (-) symbols inside the battery compartment. 3. Replace the battery cover. • Use only good quality batteries. • Inserting the batteries incorrectly may result in cracking or leakage that may cause a fire or result in injury.
3 Connecting Your Devices Connecting Your Devices Your HDTV can be easily connected to an external device: • DVD or Blu-Ray player • Video game console • Cable box • External antenna • Or other device Once you have determined the best available connection type on both your device and the TV, ensure you have the corresponding cable. To connect a device to the TV: 1. Ensure both the TV and your device are off. 2. Connect the device and the TV. Use the best available connection.

4 Completing the First-Time Setup The first time you turn on the TV, the Setup App will guide you through each of the steps necessary to get your TV ready for use. Before you begin the first-time setup: • Your TV should be installed and the power cord should be connected to an electrical outlet. • Have your remote ready. Ensure the batteries are inserted. • Your devices should be connected. To complete the first-time setup: 1. Turn the TV on by pressing the Power/Standby button on the remote.
5 Adjusting the TV Settings From the TV Settings Menu, you can: • Setup channels • Change the input source • Change the on-screen menu language • Setting Up Channels From the channel menu you can: • Change the signal source • Customize the master channel list Change the TV’s date and time • Scan for new/additional channels • Adjust the TV settings for use as a PC monitor • Start a new channel scan • Customize channel names • Enable or disable the CEC settings Changing the Signal Sourc
5 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Changing the Input Source Customizing and Removing Input Names External devices such as DVD players, Blu-Ray Players, and video game consoles can be connected to your TV. To use one of these devices with your TV, you must first change the input source in the on-screen menu. When you have multiple devices connected to your TV, it can become difficult to remember the inputs to which they are connected.
5 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Removing Unused Inputs from the Input List Customizing the Master Channel List If you are not using an input and would like to remove it from the input list, you can do this from the Input menu. By customizing the master channel list, you can choose which channels can be displayed. Channels not in the list will not be available when watching broadcast television. To remove unused inputs: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 1.
5 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Scanning for New or Additional Channels Scanning for Channels When a new channel becomes available in your area, you do not have to rescan all channels to add the new channel. Using the add channel feature, you can restrict the scan to new channels only. Before the TV can detect and display channels and their associated information, you must scan for channels.
5 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Customizing Channel Names Changing the On-Screen Menu Language Your TV features the ability to customize channel names, making them easy to identify. (Custom names have a 10-character limit.) Your TV can display the on-screen menu in different languages. For example, KBOT-DT could be renamed as Favorite. To change the on-screen menu language: To customize a channel name: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 1.

To manually set the date and time: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the TV icon and press OK. The TV Settings menu is displayed. 3. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Date & Time and press OK. 4. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight Current Tiime. 5.
E320VT / E370VT / E420VT 5 Enabling or Disabling CEC The CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) function on your TV enables you to control HDMI-connected devices with the included remote without any additional programming. Not all HDMI devices support CEC. See your device’s user manual for details. To enable, disable, or adjust CEC settings: 1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the TV icon and press OK.
6 Using the Other Menu Settings Your TV features an easy-to-use on-screen menu. The images can also be sorted by date or by name. • The USB thumb drive must be formatted as FAT32 • Files on the USB thumb drive must be a supported file type • The USB thumb drive must have a minimum 1GB memory To customize the photo display screen: • The TV will not play media from external hard drives or mp3 players 1.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Setting the Screen Aspect Ratio The TV can display images in five different modes: Normal, Wide, Zoom, Panoramic, and Stretch. Each mode displays content according to the content’s original format. Original Content Format Normal Wide Zoom Panoramic Stretch 20 480p/480i (4:3) 720p (16:9) Use the table below to determine the best aspect ratio for your content type. Areas in red will not be visible on your TV screen.

Using the Audio Settings menu, you can adjust the following: 2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the Wide icon and press OK. The Wide menu is displayed. 3. Use the Left/Right Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the screen mode you want to display, then press OK: • • Normal - Preserves an original 4:3 aspect ratio.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Enabling or Disabling SRS TruVolume Adjusting the Equalizer Settings SRS TruVolume intelligently normalizes volume fluctuations due to television commercials or channel changes. Your TV features six preset equalizer settings. These settings allow you to customize your TV’s sound to match the type of programming you most often enjoy. To enable or disable SRS TruVolume: The Equalizer Settings menu is not available when SRS TruSurround HD is enabled. 1.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Adjusting Bass and Treble Levels Enabling or Disabling the Built-In Speakers The bass and treble levels for your TV’s built-in speakers can be adjusted to your liking. Using this menu option, you can turn the built-in speakers on or off. This is often used when the TV is connected to a home audio system. To enable or disable the built-in speakers: To adjust the bass and treble levels, you must disable SRS TruSurround HD and change the Equalizer Settings to Off. 1.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Selecting the Digital Output Mode Changing the Audio Language Using this menu option, you can force the TV to downsample unsupported audio formats to PCM audio. You may want to use this option if you have an older audio receiver connected to the TV. Some digital free-to-air and cable channels broadcast programs in more than one language. The TV’s MTS (Multichannel Television Sound) feature allows you to listen to audio in your preferred language.

6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Adjusting the Noise Reduction Setting Enabling or Disabling the Ambient Light Sensor Noise reduction diminishes artifacts such as “blockiness” or “pixellation”. When activated, the resulting picture usually has softer edges. When enabled, the ambient light sensor detects the light levels in the room to optimize the brightness of the TV’s backlight. To adjust the noise reduction setting: 1. Press the OK button on the remote. The on-screen menu is displayed. 2.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Setting the Parental Controls Blocking and Unblocking Content by Rating The TV’s parental controls allow you to prevent the TV from displaying certain channels or programs without a password. A channel may sometimes broadcast programs that are meant for children, and at other times broadcast programs that are meant for mature audiences. You may not want to block the channel completely using a channel lock, but you may wish to block certain programs from being viewed.
6 E320VT / E370VT / E420VT Changing the Parental Control Passcode Viewing System Info and Resetting to Factory Defaults If you use the parental controls, you should change the passcode to prevent children from accessing inappropriate material. You can use the TV’s Help menu to: 1. From the Parental Controls menu, highlight Change PIN and press OK. If you restore the TV to the factory default settings, all changes you have made to the settings will be lost! Your TV can display closed captions for programs that include them. Closed captions display a transcription of a program’s dialogue.

To change the appearance of digital closed captions: 1. From the Closed Caption menu, use the Arrow buttons to highlight Digital CC Style. The Digital CC Style menu is displayed. 2.
