7.1 JTAG Chain
Chain Topology
The JTAG Chain is divided into three segments:
• Processor
• CPLDs
• Other JTAG devices
Each segment is used for a specific set of similar devices, and can be accessed separately from the
remaining parts of the JTAG chain. This allows tools that only support certain devices to be used by
only accessing the segment with supported devices.
