Generation Backup

As noted in the switch output, please note that you may have to enable
ports for the licenses to take effect. You can do that by doing no shut on
the interfaces you are using. The 40GbE ports can also be used in breakout
mode as four 10GbE ports. For details, please refer to the Network OS
Administration Guide, v4.1.0 to configure them.
C. Displaying Licenses on the switches
You can display installed licenses with the show license command. The
following example displays a Brocade VDX 6740 licensed for full port
density of 48 ports and two 40Gbe QSFP ports. This configuration does not
include FCoE features.
sw0# show license

Refer to Network OS Administrator’s Guide Supporting Network OS v3.0.1 in
Appendix C for additional licensing related information.
When VCS is deployed as a Logical Chassis, it can be managed by a
single Virtual IP and configuration changes are automatically saved across
all switches in the fabric. RBridge ID is a unique identifier for an RBridge
(physical switch in a VCS fabric) and VCS ID is a unique identifier for a VCS
fabric. The factory default VCS ID is 1. All switches in a VCS fabric must
have the same VCS ID. The default is set to 1 on each VDX switch so it
doesn’t need to be changed in a one-cluster implementation. The
RBridge ID is also set to 1 by default on each VDX switch, but if more than
one switch is to be added to the fabric then each switch needs its own
unique ID as in this implementation.
In this deployment VCS ID 1 is assigned on all VDXs and RBridge IDs are
assigned as per the Deployment Topology in Figure 39. In the following
example we will show configuration for Logical Chassis with RB21 as
primary. Other Rbridges can be configured in a similar manner.
The value range for RBridge ID is 1-239.
The value range for VCS ID is 1-8192.
