By ensuring that there are no single points of failure in the network layer
you can ensure that the compute layer is able to access storage and
communicate with users even if a component fails.
The VNX family is designed for five 9s availability by using redundant
components throughout the array as shown in Figure 33. All of the array
components are capable of continued operation in case of hardware
failure. The RAID disk configuration on the array provides protection
against data loss due to individual disk failures, and you can dynamically
allocate the available hot spare drives to replace a failing disk.
