Vocollect Headset Software Update Tool
With the introduction of its SRX2 Wireless Headset, Vocollect developed the Vocollect Headset Software
Update Tool.
Part of maintaining the SRX2 headset involves an occasional software update of the Bluetooth chipset.
Vocollect releases these updates when they become available. The Vocollect Headset Software Update
Tool provides an easy solution for keeping the software versions current in both SRX2 headsets and
SRX2 headset battery chargers.
The Headset Software Update Tool:
• Runs on Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 32-bit operating systems.
• Can update multiple SRX2 headsets at the same time.
• Can update an SRX2 battery charger and SRX2 headsets at the same time.
• Applies the updates via a standard USB cable and port.
• Provides a user-friendly interface that shows the real-time upgrade progress.
• Allows users to save existing headset software to a file.
The Bluetooth word mark and logos are owned by the Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
and any use of such marks by Vocollect is under license. Other trademarks
and trade names are those of their respective owners.
Important: This application was intended for SRX2 headset and charger updates. Do not use this
tool for SRX headsets.
Installing the Vocollect Headset Software Update Tool
Before installing:
• Ensure that the computer that will host the tool is running a supported Windows operating system.
• The computer running the application should be a 32-bit machine.
1. Insert the Headset Software Update Tool installation DVD into the DVD drive and search the contents.
2. Run setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Set the installation folder name and path.
This folder will also be the location for software backup files and application log files.
4. Confirm your settings to start the installation.
5. After the installation completes, launch the application from the desktop shortcut or installation
folder.
Installing the USB Driver for the SRX2 Update Tool
After installing the Vocollect Headset Software Update Tool:
1. Launch the application from the desktop shortcut or installation folder.
2. Install the Vocollect USB driver by performing the steps for your operating system.
USB Driver Installation on Windows XP
a) Connect a headset using a USB cable. The Microsoft Found New Hardware Wizard should start
automatically and detect a USB device. If it does not, open Control Panel and double-click "Add
Hardware."
b) Select "Install from a list or specific location."
